What do you want to be when you grow up, and where are you now? Parents support?

Back when i was a wee lil tot,my mother had high hopes of me becoming a police officer, following the footsteps of my grandfather and her.But as i grew older, all ideas of becoming one was slowly eroding as i began exploring my options and i went into pre-u,i found that answer i was looking for:teaching and english literature in particular. My mum may be disappointed that theres nobody in the family who is willing to continue the police lineage (my bro's a technician and my lil sis plans to be a designer)but at least my pesky cousin wants to become one (i suspect that he is doing it just so that his hari raya packet is more stuffed up than mine). My love for english literature speaks volumes and often i get ticked off for using "alien" words (eg.eh,what the fish was that word?can use simple english?)but instead of arresting the bad guys and bring justice to society,i decided to inspire and enhance the minds of the future with works from the great poets and hoping that the beauty of the english language is preserved and enjoyed by both the young and old

But some of that regimentation did rub off a bit,i have OCD because of that.gah.....

Mayhap by pursuing what you love, you can inspire your students which might actually lead them away to perhaps a much more darker path, which may ultimately keep the bad guys from becoming a bad guy in the first place.
You plant the good seed, while your mom/cousin/grandpapa pluck the bad weed so to speak.

Hats off to you sir.

What i wanna be....??

firstly, to become a professional drummer like Mr Mike Portnoy/Tony Royster Jr.

secondly,Music and Audio Tech Engineer.

Lastly .. .. .. become a Deep sea diver.(like my granddad):p

->raistmar

Sounds very Justice League eh?lol. But i see what you mean and its true what you said.If the young are being led to the right path then there will be lesser bad guys in this world. All children are born without any preconceived notions,it is society that causes them to change either for the better or worse and come to think of it,teachers are like our heroes in a way too.Hats off to them too!

i've always held a high regard towards teachers who taught for passion. my mother was a teacher too. it's often been said that 'those who can't, teach'. but there are so many out there who are living examples that put that statement to shame!

I actually want to be a stable guitarist in a band. it's what i like after all. maybe a touring musician. but this is singapore after all. so i'm aiming for an overseas university, probrably buisness/management. preferably UK. J2 this year, see how it goes with music. maybe i can realise my dreams there! haha.

/wishful thinking

i want to be a vet.
but it isn't easy, especially for someone like me who doesn't like studying (read :ABHOR) but it's a passion.
i feel that in singapore, the animal rights are not respected enough.
so i want to be an influential veterinarian, and change singapore into a better place for all animals.
the humans.. it's every man for his own. haha.

but i feel that we as the "highest order" animals, have a responsibility to protect and conserve.

im sorry if i sound too much like an animal planet commercial =/

Don't worry, it's your dreams and we have to respect your dreams.

The thing about ambition is if you're really certain you want to go for it, just go for it. And look back with no regrets. Don't regret about what you'd missed out because you'll just gain as much with your ambition.

For people who want to be inspired, watch The Pursuit of Happiness. This movie further solidified my stand in going all the way out for my ambition.

I wanna be a Guitarist in a successful VK band and have tours etc etc, or at least be a songwriter.

Or else, I wanna work in radio. Like those behind scenes stuff. I don't know how to explain.

When I go poly I wanna enter Mass Comm..

Last time when I was young,I wanted to be an artist but now I realised that doing fine arts like painting, drawing that kind of stuffs in singapore can't really gives a stable income and its very difficult to do fine arts full time in singapore,so now I wanted to be a graphic designer or any line thats in the arts and design field, illustrator, photographer or maybe concept or storyboard artist.
Currently,I'm going to be year 2 in NYP Digital Media Design, and getting to know my specialisation soon but I hope I could specialise in interactive media design where they design websites, graphics and interfaces.
I also loves to shoot photos for gigs, and had been shooting a few gigs with my camera and had them posted on facebook and myspce but my photos aren't very good though.
As for my parents, they don't really disapprove me of doing arts and design but instead they gave me their support.

My mum asked me to consider being a type-writer, while dad says pilot, but I don't want to be responsible for a few hundred lives.

Which software you use for 3D modelling?Maya?3D Studio Max?My Intro to 3D module uses Maya and teaches abit of 3D Studio Max but I doubt I would be using Maya in my year2 if I am specialising in Interactive Media Design because Interactive Media design usees 3D studio Max and they seldom do 3D modelling. You own any books on Adobe Photoshop CS2?By the way I also have a deviant art.
