What do you want to be when you grow up, and where are you now? Parents support?

What i wanted to be when i grow up- before reality kicked in
#1) CID (cause of triple9 and martial law)
#2) A Spice Girl (SERIOUSLY)
#3) Ballerina (like my sis, but i realised i can't dance even if my life depends on it)

What i want to be
#1) Touring artist
#2) Fine Artist
#3) Open my own Vegan restaurant

Typical Singaporean Parentally adviced & approved MUST-have back-up plans
#1) Art teacher
#2) Kindergarten teacher
#3) Babysitter

working in the music scene, as a lawyer, also bein able to help in the scene and im 18 this year with no parent support financially.

Anyway its been good to hear that most of us have similiar situations la.. I was thinking of going into the business sector of the music industry also, cause they also require accountants mah, then maybe I'll be able to get free passes and shit :X
 
It'd be great to be a host in the Lonely Planet. If that doesnt happen, I'll prolly end up as a journalist, I feel that I'm particularly more articulate on paper or VJ/DJ-ing, tho the chances of that happening is pretty slim.

And I always have a plan of opening up my own Gallery cum Cafeteria, where artists can collaborate and put up an art show every friday. And I am certain that whatever I do, music (or atleast certain aspects of it) will always be part of it, atleast it will be melded with it.

I'm not sure if my parents support me on all those, but they're paying for my university fees which is pretty darn expensive (Television Journalism). But I'm sure they just want me to make tons of money doing whatever I want to do.
 
waaaaaah man you all have so many ambitions. and so do (i mean did) i!

lets see where do i start..ambitions...when i had them...reason...

1- teacher in kindergarten so i can scold my students
2- taxi driver in lower primary coz i love steering wheels.
3- bus driver in lower primary coz i love BIG steering wheels
4- superman, batman i also dont know why
5- university lecturer coz i heard they get high pay
6- businessman in sec sch coz i see bill gates so rich
7- artist in sec sch coz i like to draw
8- musician since i got my first electric guitar
9- gamer day before yesterday when my friend suggested since i like to play computer games

im still a poly student in the east going year 2 . i wish i can get a stable job and still have time for music. i dont expect myself to be rich. but of coz who doesnt wanna be rich?

and yeah my parents still support me. lucky they only have to support me now since my siblings are already working. but sadly...by their age, they shud have been retired already.
 
I want to be a politician and I'm studying in a JC now. Can't wait to enter university and get enrolled into History. I hate my school right now.

If all fails, I'll be an author like Catherine Lim. Haha.

And it's also my dream to open a metal-only record label and a music school. So still need to find a way to get a diploma in music production and start saving up.

And my parents do no support my ambitions at all. They don't believe I have a future. Well, I'm gonna prove them wrong though.

worst case scenario : end up as a teacher.
dont get me wrong, i actually respect them even more now, especially after going into relief teaching for 1 term,for the amount of shit they go through, its just totally not worth their slightly above average pay
