his use of the guitar as a percussive instrument is fantastic! watch the end of the video where he emulates the double bass drums.

i couldn't quite catch what he was doing, especially for the double bass drum part. i know he 1)slaps and 2)snaps like on a bass guitar, but what does he do for the "double bass drum" sound? he looks like he just hit the strings with his fist or something...

I think triplets come from him doing 3 things:
1) Slap with thumb
2) knock with fist
3) Pull with finger

The 4th one in the 4 sounds he was refering to is basically slapping with thumb twice. His playing concentrates on left hand muting.
