Hi, have been thinking of getting a zoom r24 and drum mics to mic up the drums. But do not know will it work or not, if i buy the zoom r24, it will be working as an audio interface to my cubase 5. Question is :

1. WIll I be able to control track by track from the DAW?
2. Will there be latency problems?
3. Will I be able to EQ the sound from the DAW?

Any info?
Tried looking up the net but to no avail! Thanks for reading!

Hey! thanks again!I've heard the demo on r16 with the drum mics, those were the ones im considering too th km7! your effort is greatly appreciated!

I have heard so far afew problems with the zoom r16/r24 series, are you facing any problems? cause I want to get one of those, to work with Cubase 5
Does the zoom r16/r24 have phantom power? so to include condenser mics

I understand that the zoom r24 has 6 channels allowed for phantom power, I do not need to have external preamps, am I right to say that?

xxrevilexx : cool glad to be of help on the audio interface and drum mics heheh

what problems did you hear about? the only problem I ever had was using it as a controller (which I'm 100x faster on mouse'n'keyboard after pressing the F3 button in cubase) even the people I recommended the r16 to so far reported with success. I guess the best part for me is how amazingly lightweight it is for a USB powered interface.

you can learn more bout the r24 differences to r16 here http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/support/faq/r24.php

and nope you don't need preamps cos the onboard preamps are enough unless you're using a heavy duty dynamic mic like Shure SM7B which you'll need alot more gain from a dedicated preamp.
