Need to learn guitar/music 101

Would you all recommend taking classical guitar lessons to augment 'music knowledge' (sight reading, music theory)?

I've been 'rocking' on and off for 6 yrs plus, but I feel so limited with my shallow knowledge of music notation and theory (I read "tow-gay" at about 1 note per minute)....

Or should I ask the services of a respectable electric guitar mentor? (any to recommend?)

You gotta practice Sight Reading to be decent....only advice is to learn one postition first....get it down hard and cold....btw you gotta get a few books too probably 2 or 3 sight reading w/o tabs. Go through it w/o repeating any song...if its really hard...maybe 2 or 3 times but not more.

I'll get right down to it! Hope I'll reach 2 tow-gay per minute by end of this month!!

still saving up for my Ibanez....ouch! Books books and books....

think I'll just continue being "self-taught"
