lessons and guitar for beginner

hey guys, i'm vicki, 14 this year.
im thinking about picking up electric guitar, and i have two questions.

1. Where would be a good place for lessons?
(preferably near orchard, pricing less that 100 a month)
2. What is a guitar that you would recommend?
(is the Ibanez starter pack advisable?)

my friend has a Ibanez SA, and i did some searching on the website, they said that it's a good all-rounder guitar. is it a feasible choice for a beginner?

my budget is about 600-700

i have a few songs i wanna learn, namely,
unholy confessions-avenged sevenfold
hotel california-eagles.
simple,starving to be safe-daphne loves derby
to zanarkand-FFX
seize the day -avenged sevenfold
mad world-gary jules/tears for fears

i called up brandon gan, he seems pretty nice.
the only problem is the distance..
he's in CCK, im in orchard T.T

$30 an hour, over what i was looking for,
but he seems very professional and he has made a pretty good impression

any comments about him?

Hmm I don't know how good the lessons are, but you can check out the Contempo school at the Yamaha over at Plaza Singapura.

you can also check out Music Ensemble..
or East Side Music at peninsular plaza..
both charge 80 per 4 lessons..

if you dont mind second hand stuff you can scout around the buy/sell forum.

should be able to get a decent guitar and amp.maybe a pedal too.

friggin big house with a pool.

im looking at 2 now, Ibanez SZ520FM and Ibanez SA120.
if im not wrong the sa120 will be cheaper right?
how much is it approx?

u can try goin to music clef at suntec city for lessons,and i tink the sa120 is around 500-600 if im not wrong

both guitars are in the REVIEW section, threadstarter do check them out.
i own the sa120, its my first and only guitar... started off with it and havent changed yet..
its 480 after discount at sweelee.

the SZ is a great guitar too! dont rule it out before trying.

haha yea its hard but i got a bcrich bronze series. and borrowed an amp from my friend till i managed to get my current amp hah.

the SA120 is a sweet guitar, wanted to temporary trade my ESP wit my bands other guitarist...haha its good plus it has the SAT-pro bridge which is on it prestige line so tahts a plus
