hey softies!

anyone can suggest me some decent SS teles around 500 to 800? looking for one which is alder body but i can go for alternatives. doesnt matter which brand, first hand or second hand.

planning to play many genres with it. alternative, blues, metal(think megadeth, i forgot which guitarist used a strat on one show)... but i wont be using lotsa gain. haha.

thought the swing t1 tele is quite a good buy. hahaha what do you guys think? im still hunting for some 2nd hand fenders.

Consider either a Squier Tele Standard (agathis body but doesn't bother me) or a Fender MIM Standard Tele(alder body). I owned the former (bought during the swee lee sale which was about $275 if I remember correctly) before as it twangs like a Tele should! Affordable as well. If u dun mind paying a little more, get the Fender. U might wanna consider getting a Tele bridge rail single coil size humbucker and a push pull pot so that u can get the Tele single coil tone plus the humbucker tone :)

I beleive u can get a used CIJ Tele for around the $700-$800 price range. :)

im currently using a HS squier tele. made of agathis oso haha. not much twang even with split coil, maybe its bcoz of the strat style bridge and pickup position?

how's a squier affinity tele?

haha maybe i'd go for a 2nd hand fender if possible. i heard japan fenders have thinner necks, is it true?

If u want a pure Tele bridge sound, go for a real Tele bridge pickup enclosed in a Tele bridge :)

Squier Affinity Teles dont have that "thru body stringing" body, n the strings are instead passed thru the bridge (top load). Heard there might be a difference between the two methods, some say not much. Jimmy Page's Tele on Led Zeppelin's 1st album had a top load bridge, for those who are keen on his Tele :)

Most, if not all japan fenders have lacquered necks. Thinner necks, maybe. Been a long time since I played one. Some might find the lacquer neck a good thing and some might not. If u find the lacquered feel gets in the way, u can always sand it off with sandpaper for that smooth satin feel.
