buying from overseas

well this thread was covered sometimes ago..and i see no one jump into the real action. was it worth it? how about shipping, duty and taxes?
well i saw some pedal/amp importer hangaround here, can you share your experience?

i tried buying MIJ strat online but they say cannot. So sad. Wish i could.

what is MIJ? i know fender don't want their dealer sell outside region policy..
anybody ever buy some musical related equipment overseas and ship to singapore?

Same goes for the rest: MIA (US), MIM (Mexico) etc

cos the various companies have agreement with dealers here. they cant allow people to import individual articles. it voids the dealership agreement i think .


if ya wan MIJ strats , (dun get me wrong i aint advertising) i was down at guitar77 tt day, my fren saw a tele he liked and he asked uncle dennis. uncle dennis said no prob , can order for you.

my guess is fender japan or in fact any major guitar company only allows for mass shipment of guitars, the agreements they have with online dealers are supposed domestic shipments only ( domestic as in where the dealers are based)
