Just when you thought you have heard all there is to jazz, Elaine Lam breezes in like a breath of fresh air, pure and wholesome.

Elaine projects the picture of that sunny girl-next-door, yet exudes the sensual sentiments of a pensive soul. Featuring an EP of her original compositions, this selection of light numbers speaks of the little snippets that can be found within our everyday lives. With her velvety voice, Elaine’s melodies blush of blossoming love, comfort troubled hearts, and even bring one back to a memorable childhood (as she has done so in a playful ditty inspired by her son).

For this singer-songwriter, what started out as something fun during younger years became a lasting love when she decided to pursue her passion for jazz music. Elaine admits to being a down-to-earth girl who enjoys the little pleasures in life, such as
discovering new gastronomical haunts and travelling. This persona is evident in her choice of muses for her songs, beautifully delicate and unpretentiously real.

About Elaine Lam:

Elaine Lam is a local jazz singer-songwriter who plays various musical instruments such as the piano, clarinet and violin. She enjoys jazz, bossa nova and pop music, and is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Inspired by her love for Latin music, Elaine has also picked up Spanish, Italian and French.

As one of a handful of shortlisted candidates for the Very Singer Training Course, organized by local record powerhouse Ocean Butterflies Music Pte Ltd, she belongs to the prestigious 1998 batch that saw the rise of fellow course mates JJ Lin and A Do.
Elaine has also been a proud performer at the iconic folk staple Music Dreamer Live! Cafe since 2001. She is a featured artiste in festivals, weddings and corporate functions, performing at public events, such as Esplanade’s Coffee Morning & Afternoon Tea concert, and memorably at one of Taiwanese crooner Jeff Chang’s mini concerts.

Elaine has been a member of COMPASS (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore) since 2001. In 1999, Hong Kong diva Miriam Yeung recorded one of Elaine's work in her first mandarin album “Smile”. Happily married with a son, Elaine also enjoys her role as a loving mother and wife.
