Howard Morris A4 Mandolin, handmade in USA, with cocobola armrest, Tone-Gard, hardcase, gigbag & strap. I bought it brand new direct import from the luthier in 2010 to learn how to play but never did. Close to mint condition. Cost me almost S$1,700 plus $91 for Tone-Gard. Selling for $850. The top is western red cedar, maple back & sides. 3 piece laminated maple neck with steel rod for reinforcement, non adjustable. Grover tuners & tailpiece. 1 1/8" inch at the bone nut. Walnut on the headstock. Flat cocobola fretboard. Ebony adjustable bridge Nitro finish. It has a nice tubby sound on the lows and nice & bright on the high side - not tiny sounding. The Tone-Gard™ is designed to fit snugly onto the back of your mandolin. Its main purpose is to isolate the back of a mandolin (or any similar instrument) from the player’s body, producing more volume and enhancing the tone.
