I believe this bass comes with an antique varnish option which makes it darker than the example in the site. The busetto shape is an interesting contrast to the violin/gamba models. The solid top adds arco color and will be an upgrade for classical music from entry all-ply models.
Condition is good with the usual marks in an instrument this size. Comes with a bag and upgraded aubert bass bridge. Will also throw in a Brazilwood bow.
These are currently strung with arco strings but you just need to slap on some Spiros and a pickup for your jazz gig.
Viewing for serious buyers welcome. If you are willing to buy sight unseen I could arrange for transportation to your place.
Price: $2,400 (nego for reasonable offers). If you buy from our local Shen/Christopher distributor Bassloft, you will not find a solid top hybrid below S$3k (this piece was bought nearer to S$4k).
