as the name suggests, it has an XY configuration, with 1/2 matched pair of condenser capsules.
this mic has a built in A/D and can record 2496 on iphone/ipad. is great for location recording, travel, documentary, interviewing etc...in my opinion, it beats the hell out of those tascam, sony stereo recorder if your main job is on the go recording.
pls note this is the iphone 4s version, meaning you need an adaptor to connect to iphone 5 or 5s.
