Tuner Problem!

Ok. So I think there's something wrong with my tuners : / I'm using the locking tuners by Grover. The problem only lies on the G String though. When I tighten the thing, it can only reach the F note on the string. And when I try to tighten if further, it "jerks" and it loosens its grip. Any suggestions on what is happening? : /

check the gears. my acoustic guitar had the same problem. turns out, some of the gear's teeth were missing.

gear teeths. the gears teeths. the jagged edge on the gear is worn out maybe.

cant be the gears lah.he just changed the tuners like less than a year.
