Don't miss this unique concert coming up this week! Take a break and immerse yourself in soothing, swinging 'live' jazz music.
The Singapore-France Jazz Alliance was created as part of the annual Francophonie Festival; commemorating the cultural and linguistic diversity of the French-speaking society that is celebrated worldwide.
Stemmed from many new beginnings, The Singapore-France Jazz Alliance Concert will feature the Jeremy Monteiro Trio consisting of Christy Smith (double-bass) and Wen (drums) alongside special guests Nicolas Folmer (trumpet) and Sylvain Beuf (saxophone). The band will present a gamut of repertoire ranging from refreshing originals to traditional French and Singapore songs to jazz standards.
Dates: 25 & 26 Mar, 7.30pm
Venue: Alliance Francaise Theatre, 1 Sarkies Rd (very near Newton Circus & Newton MRT)

About the French stars:
Sylvain Beuf was awarded the “Django d’Or” for his impressive first album “Impro Primo” while 1995 saw him clinching the “Django Reinhardt” prize for best musician of the year. In addition, Sylvain achieved a Victory in Music as the best new jazz talent of the year.
Nicolas Folmer began his lifelong love for jazz at the CNSMD (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse) in Paris, France where he was awarded First Prize in Composition for Jazz. Nicolas is regularly invited to sit in for sessions by prestigious artists and has participated in multiple albums and tours; either as a soloist or as an arranger. This long list of luminaries include Dee Dee Bridgewater, Henry Salvador, Wynton Marsalis, Charles Aznavour, Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, Claude Nougaro, John Lewis, Georges Russell, Laurent Cugny, Ricardo del Fra, André Cecarelli, Patrice Caratini, Louis Winsberg, and Minimo Garay.
