hey,
I tried recording my bass parts to the mac but i encountered some problems.
I tried plugging the bass direct to my mac with a plug converter of course.
but my mac doesnt read that input at all. instead the input is the in-built mic.

can anyone enlighten me on this?
thanks!

if you're using garageband, go to preferences - audio/midi - change built in mic to built in input. that may help

nope, works fine without an amp. plug your bass into your mac, go to system preferences > sound > input, change it to line-in. open up garageband, create new track > real instrument etc. change input source to mono 1, change monitor to on.

yea. just go system preferences, sound and change the build in internal mic to LINE IN. =D
thats all.

THANKS ALOT.
that works!

yeah, just change it in the system preference and it will work, but it will not sound too good without a decent interface.
