1) If you want to get a good drum sound, I recommend you record it at studios. Can try TNT Music Centre.. it's located at Selegie Road, Parklane Centre 3rd floor. Their drums are quite decent. HDB flats aren't necessary good.. unless you have paddings on your walls and doors to prevent sound from escaping, and also HDB flats doesnnt give you much room sound.
2) Depends on how many mics you want.. can be as simple as 4 mic or as complicated as one mic per piece. Like having two large diaphragm condensers for overheads.. recommend Rode NT5, or even better Neumann K3M183. Snare and Hi-Hat can use Shure SM-57 dynamic mic, Kick - D112 is the best, can hold up to 120~130db. Can add a Yamaha Sub Kick Mic too. Toms, get the Shure PGDMK6 Drum Mic Kit.
