I have some of the course. As she mention, you need to play piano for at least a year before taking the courses.

Yes this is a good method.
Since you have to learn chords first, scales then, and relationships between them, I will recommend you this video method which explains step by step, improvisation and accompaniment techniques in jazz piano. you will find free lessons and download possibility. Jazz piano impro
