Coming in from the cold to warm our hearts with songs dipped in charm and honesty, make a date with Club 8 and Pelle Carlberg of Swedish label Labrador for an intimate double bill session at the Esplanade Recital Studio. Visiting Singapore for the first time on their Asia tour, they'll be bringing their unique sound as two of Sweden's finest indie pop bands. Pelle Carlberg writes with a straight-from-the-diary honesty, and lines his catchy yet intimate tunes with sunny choruses and comforting instrumentation. Club 8 have been tagged as one of the most important indie pop bands in Sweden, and return from a five-year hiatus to fill the gap they left behind with shimmering baroque-pop.

So grab a seat and enjoy a comfortable evening of poetry set to song with Club 8 & Pelle Carlberg.

Esplanade Recital Studio,

i know. We've tried our best to keep ticket prices low to make the gig more accessible. 65 for 2 bands for a 2 hour concert at the Esplanade is quite reasonable.

They're playing at Hong Kong's HITEC for 350HKD.

haha,i see.but kinda suprised they're coming here though i knew it a while ago.
i missed their gig in beijing about 2 years ago.

im a new club 8 fan
after checking out the glowing reviews over at AV Club

ticket prices are kinda steep tho
considering that TNS's Fringe Festival is also concurrent
and B Quartet's album launch is happening the weekend after

hootie

Well consider that it's $32.50 per band, it's definitely worth it. =)

Money well spent... for fans of Belle & Sebastien, The Smiths, Camera Obscura, St Etienne, Acid House Kings, etc

When my girlfriend & I saw the poster in Esplanade, on the 13th of Jan(catching Beauty World)...that was it. We went straight to the box office to purchase the tickets.

Good sincere pop music, all the way from Sweden. $65+$2=worth ever cent. Sure beats flying to China and Sweden to catch this band perform!

See you all there for the show. Cheers!

MTV Asia interview with Johan Angergard of Club 8.

Boomslang:
As for the gig itself, Pelle Carlberg would be playing first followed by a short intermisssion and Club 8 would take to the stage after.

Both bands would be playing full sets of about 45min - 1 hour each.

There would also be an autograph session after the concert and merch would be on sale too.

Also, look out for an interview with Johan in ST Life! these next two days.

For those who have not bought tickets... limited seats left. SO HURRY!
