This is a take-off from this other soft thread:
Music Themed Films (didn't want to clutter it up with off-topic stuff)

In the film, The Thing Called Love, you see people auditioning for spots in the legendary Bluebird Cafe. This is a real-life music club in Nashville and they are famous for having given many country singers (eg. Garth Brooks) their start in the music business. Below are some of the rules for the Sunday Night Writer's Showcase audition (some of it were featured in the film):

* RULE #1: Read and follow the rules!

* You must be in line outside The Bluebird no later than 10:30 am to check in. You will perform in the order you arrive, however, absolutely no one will audition if they arrive after 11:00. (Trust us on this one.)

* Plan to play 1 verse and 1 chorus of 1 original song that YOU wrote (or co-wrote.) Excessively long instrumental intros and endings are not to your advantage as you have about 1 minute of total time to audition.

* Due to the large volume of songwriters, we insist that you do not bring anyone to wait with you in line or to watch your audition.

* Please bring your own guitar with a strap (as you will be standing.) You can plug in or we can mic your guitar.

* If you use a keyboard, please bring it. But we will only set up the first keyboard to show. Everyone else will use that keyboard.

* Absolutely NO BACKING TAPES!

* Plan on being at The Bluebird for THREE HOURS MINIMUM.

* If you need to cancel, you must call if you wish to attend a future audition. We will not reschedule auditions for no call - no shows.

* PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! We ask that you do not leave your trash (food wrappers, cans, bottles, cig butts, etc.) on the ground. We're not your maids!

* Although solos are preferred, you may have a maximum of three people on stage. NO drum sets or kits.

* When you begin your audition, please state your name, where you are from, and the title of the song you will perform. Please do not add any additional information (everything we want to know is on your application!)

* Do not leave when you are done performing, please quietly sit back down and don't disrupt the next auditionee. We will take breaks to allow groups to leave.

* BE ON TIME!!!
