How do I check the grounding in my house?

I get buzzing after a while when I play my guitar on a clean channel - through my amp or my POD. I have tried all my guitars, cables different powerpoints, two and thee pin powerchords. It does not happen at a friends. Very simply, my house has bad grounding, but I know very very little about such. I called my house owner and asked him about an electrician which resulted in one coming round, however the man did not speak one word of english, so persuading him that the "pzzz" coming out of my amp was indeed not my fault. I either need detailed instructions how to check or rectify the grounding in my house, or, a much more desirable solution, somone to reccomend me a trustyworthy and capable electrciian to come around and check it.

Thanks.

Grouding is quite a sticky issue, and it could also be electrical interference.

Grounding is a reference point and like what we call earth, ideally should be zero volt in whatever system. But practically that not precisely true.

Electricians can help check if the earth is connected (remember got good ones and got half past six types). But to measure the earthing is more specialised.

Sometime you just have to live with a little noise.

If you remember I came to you with this problem :)
I can live with a little fuzz, but when my clean patches sound like my dirty patches, playing acoustic stuff sounds a little off!

Anyone know anyone I can call to get my house checked out? If nothing else for piece of mind...

hmmm.. when u play.. is the tv, computer monitor or even dryer/washing machine on? these devices might cause some RF interence (i think) and cause some buzzing in your amp (it did to mine.. switched the tv and monitor in my room and my amp is super quiet now)

Ive tried and tested it al to death, with stuff on and off, in all the rooms of my house. The buzzing comes after a while, and if i unplug, touch the plug and plug it back in its gone for a bit. To me this sounds like the static is building up and not going away.

Hmmm.. I think I remember now, that was like very long time back, n you were asking about the same thing. About bringing the amp to the poolside and no noise, go home got noise.

Well, I can't think of other possibilities other than moving elsewhere or maybe seek divine intervention......
