An artist and illustrator rolled into one, Andy Yang has been fervently experimenting with different mediums since 2001. The visual impact of his works derives from his expressive techniques of mixing mediums and clashing bold colours, they also escape formal confines of the canvas and extend into the frames, highlighting the capriciousness of his thought process.

It’s his need for exploring his personal style that led Andy to push his craft progressively. Influenced by the exuberance of everyday life, there is no one underlying theme but rather a gamut of many, often tinged with irony, humor and even rebellion.

Living in an urban landscape where culture can be seemingly monotonous, enfant artist, Wong Lip Chin, feels compelled to explore and exploit any ounce of cultural disparity and diversity.

Replete with elements of consumer fetishism, mass production and materialism yet imbued with introspective glimpses of reality, the works of Lip represent an allegory on popular culture.

By immersing himself into the subject matter, Lip is able to juxtapose the everyday with brushes of “copyism”. This tension and interplay evokes a fresh sense of intriguing edge that is both provocative yet palpable.

Michael Ng is one of the most prominent artist/illustrator working in Singapore under the name Mindflyer. Always eager to push the envelope, he seeks a unique reinterpretation to express his message.

The character-based works of “Mindflyer” emulates an aura that is whimsical and playful. The basic simplicity in his art evokes a relatable innocence that is highly effective in capturing your attention. He also explores creativity by experimenting with unconventional mediums- such as using pages from a vintage children’s book as a canvas for his paintings.

Some of his prominent work includes illustrations for Tang’s 70th anniversary, Saatchi reception wall (Singapore office) and the ION.

Besides painting and exhibiting his work, he is a founding member of the illustrator group ‘The OIC’ in Singapore, where he is actively involved in engaging and challenging young illustrators.

Scope-one is a full time graffiti/neo street arts/ graphics arts related practitioner and one of the pioneers responsible for spreading the word of aerosol art movement in Singapore. He is also one of the first to travel outside his nation, bringing forth the awareness of the existence of aerosol art.

Other than representing crews worldwide from the infamous King’s Destroy (Bronx, NY) to Boriquaz New Alliance (Puerto Rico) and Justice and Crime (Europe), SCOPE ONE is also a founding member of Singapore’s very own graffiti art movement “Operation Art Core”.

MIMER is a locally bred underground writer slowly surfacing to be one of the few legit graff artists in Singapore. He started his graffiti persona in 2001 with an underrated distinct style heavily influenced by tribal art, tattoo art and styles originating from the Los Angeles graffiti scene. MIMER exaggerates his pieces and deliberately has them done on a large scale for a prominent effect.
One of his debut showcases was for an event held in conjunction with the Singapore Arts Festival, FLIPSIDE at Esplanade.

With a name that may sounds all sappy folksy, one may pass him off as another ubiquitous nu-rave pop icon. Surprisingly, he dabbles in the art of abstract instrumental hip-hop. Heavily influenced by the sounds of Prefuse 73, Flying Lotus and Gas Lamp Killer, he wouldn’t look out of place playing out at Low End Theory. His beats are right out of the Tribe Called Quest handbook and verses are samples from all over the map. The experimental flavour of Izaak Stern leaves everyone all cotton-mouthed for more.

A duo based in Singapore with 18 years of DJ-ing experience between them, have more than reggae/dub up their musical sleeves.
Tastemakers in their own right, Dubwise are heavily influenced by the sounds of labels like Basic Channel, Hyperdub, Warp and Planet Mu. They are also responsible for the development and promotion of dubstep plus other bass heavy genres in Singapore, with the help of their trademark rowdy club nights such as “Dubwise” and most recently, “Mutant Dub”.

Pushin'On has been Singapore's longest running and independently promoted funk party, bringing quality funk, soul, jazz, disco as well as hip-hop to the dance floor.
Besides their regular monthly stint at Blu Jazz Cafe, they have also ventured overseas for a series of gigs in Bali, Spain and Holland. Pushin’On consists of DJ Shellsuit and DJ Chunk who lay down the cuts and MC Masterpiece, who hosts the party with injections of vocals and percussion.
