help needed.

i need sum help.

there is going to an IT fair soon, and i am juggling between getting a Mini Intel Core Solo or a self assembled one. i am nt that well verse, but my current gears are as below.

behringer ub1204fx mixer x 1
delta 150W monitor speaker x 1
M-audio radium 61 x 1
samson pencil condensor mics x 2
shure sm 58 x 1
drum set x 1
piano x 1
crate 30W bass amp x 1
rocktron 10 W guitar amp x 1
Audio techi monitor headphone x 1

Objective: to be able to record decent keys form my midi controller or piano, and also record vocals.

currently i am using a dell laptop to do the job. sound card is an inbuilt wan, so sumtimes record, got a little distortion here and there. i also have no softwares other than those free ones like audiacity. software for piano really gives a sucky tone, and i was not able to put it into audiacity. any software recommendations? but let me know if u can help me out, or give me links to free sounds. i am using absyth for my midi now.

will the new computer helps with better sound? hmm... i dont think so.

what you are missing is a AD/DA. check out some of the thread in this forum on computer recording.

agree with james, a new computer is not going to help you. what you will need is a good audio interface!

audio interface is the solution, but software does counts too its not the computer
