Singaporean alternative rock band, Heir of Hounds, releases their new single, “Skin”, accompanied by a short film music video. Featuring one of Singapore’s most popular acts, Gentle Bones, the rock ballad track takes on a mellow approach, in contrast to the band's usual belting vocals accompanied with heavier instrumentals. A launch event will be held on 26th March, 6pm at Hood Bar & Café in Singapore where the music video will be premiered. Fans can also look forward to performances by Singaporean acts Disco Hue and Cadence as well as the band's intimate renditions from their upcoming debut EP, "Retrospect".
“Skin” is Heir of Hounds’ second self-released single off their upcoming EP, “Retrospect”. The three-piece band worked with up and coming Singapore’s music producer, Marlon Ingle of HPY AVE, who has produced for the likes of Villes of Zestone Records Japan, Make Them Suffer of Rise Records and Gentle Bones of Universal Music.
The track is inspired by a romantic relationship that has strained itself longer than it should have. “The subject speaks about a long relationship that has reached its last stages yet still reminiscing the good memories from the past and is reluctant to let go,” Seran Yeo, the vocalist and guitarist of the band, explains.
The music video for “Skin” was filmed by Melbourne-based cinematographer Dillion Pearce and independent director Nick Kozakis whose film, “Plague”, topped the iTunes charts of most popular horror flicks less than 48 hours after its debut. Shot in Melbourne, Australia, it features strong emotive imagery which complements the soulful track perfectly, creating a visually powerful and heart-rending piece. Heir of Hounds is a three-piece alternative rock band from Singapore. The band comprises of Seran Yeo on Vocals/Guitars, Tay Yong Le on Bass and Sherman Lee on Drums. Inspired by bands such as Emarosa, Hands Like Houses and I, the Mighty, Heir Of Hounds features melodic guitars and rhythmic patterns with emotive vocals that breaks into anthemic choruses while impactful lyrics reflect the highs and lows of everyday life.
