Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that we present the return of djembe Grandmaster Mamady Keita. We are indeed honoured that Mamady has agreed to return to Singapore and we very much want to share this rare African drum maestro with all of you again. Mamady Keita is consider one of the greatest djembe player ever by many and even by fellow drum grandmasters in Africa. Once awarded ‘Best African Drummer’ in his younger days, Mamady has been wowing audiences all over the world with his virtuoso performances on the djembe since 1970s. Mamady opened his first school of percussion in 1991 in Belgium call Tam Tam Mandingue (Drums from the Mandingue). The school rapidly gain reputation and now has branches all over the world. Today, Mamady continues to travel around the world and carries out his mission of preserving the tradition and music of the djembe. His djembe playing and musicality is exceptional and many were thrilled, breathless and amazed after experiencing his drum solos.

2 days Djembe Workshop – Study djembe with the master!
12th-13th Sept 2009, 2-7pm both days, Kallang Community Club, S$300 per person
(Early bird sign up at S$250 before 31st Aug!)

* For all skill levels of djembe playing
* Mamady will break participants to intermediate and advance group and teach both groups
* You can sit in advance session if you are allocated to intermediate group, likewise the other way round
* Learn traditional African rhythms that’s been around for centuries!
* Learn Mamady’s solo technique!
