Singapore Raffles Music College (SRMC) has officially launched the “SRMC Shine Scholarship”, where outstanding talents will get to further their studies in music under a full or merit scholarship.
For the 2018 intakes in March and September, the Singapore-based private education institution will be offering up to 30 scholarships. These range from full to partial sponsorships that are applicable at the Diploma ($17,720, 1 year) and Bachelor’s Degree ($66,000, 3 years) levels.
The courses include the BMus (Hons) Music Performance – Level 6, BMus (Hons) Music Performance and Recording, BA (Hons) Music Management and Foundation Degree in Music courses, which are conducted by SRMC and conferred by the University of West London. The Diploma in Music and Advanced Diploma in Music are also part of the scholarship.
Full scholarship recipients will get to produce music professionally as a band under the mentorship of SRMC’s industry partners. This is part of the college’s commitment to offer talented musicians the support they need to reach their maximum potential.
To apply for the scholarships, participants aged 16 and above are invited to take part in the “SRMC Shine Contest” – the college’s inaugural online audition competition for the coming March intake. From now to 5th February 2018 (Monday), participants are to:
1. Post a video of their solo music performance to their Facebook page,
2. Set their post to ‘Public’, and caption it with #SRMCShine2018,
3. Get their friends to like or share their video.
The videos will be reviewed by SRMC’s academic team, based on musical technique, musicianship, and presentation. Points will also be awarded to those with the highest engagement rates, based on Facebook likes and shares.
Best entries will be shortlisted for our Grand Finale, held on 9th February 2018 at SRMC’s Singapore Campus.
Winners of the “SRMC Shine Contest” stand to receive the full scholarship, merit scholarship, and/or a chance to record a single at the state-of-the-art professional studio, Singapore Raffles Production Suite.
