Cubase, feedback loop during monitoring

Hi,

I have a Behringer 1202fx connected to a UCA202 audio interface. I have the mixer's output going into the interfaces

Before I record, I want to monitor the levels of the singer and when I click the monitor icon in my Cubase AI4 mixer (not the 1202fx), it produces this sound:

Any suggestions and idea how to monitor the sound without causing this noise?

Also, can someone suggest how I can connect the cables so that the singer can hear reverb with the earphones without actually recording it into Cubase?

How are your speakers connected?

Are you pointing the microphone at the speaker? Make sure the microphone is not pointing at the speaker. Why not just listen to the singer on the phones out of the mixer instead of using the monitors?

What is your singer's headphone connected to?
