Amateur/Beginner guitarist looking to join a Metalcore/melodic metal band

Hi, I've played for a few years but I'm not at the level where I can sweep pick like no tomorrow. I stopped playing for afew years but I'm playing again now and it feels really good. Looking to join a metalcore/melodic death band as a ryhtym guitarist.
Hope to learn and grow as a guitarist in a band.
I listen to a wide range of metal music but i tend to lean towards the melodic/metalcore side of things.

Influences: miss may i, as i lay dying, trivium, killswitch engage, bullet for my valentine,parkway drive, etc.
