    Epi stock pickups are terribly muddy. Go with high output pickups from either SD or Dimarzio for a start.

    Perhaps you might wanna explain what kind of music you play or bands you are trying to play: Metal, more hard rock not amounting to metal, blues etc? From there we can understand your needs and what to recommend.
