Good Bassist - The most unappreciated true hero in any band

Nothing very much to do during this lock down, so Just pen some of my thoughts........

To me, a good bassist is the most important member in any band. He provides the foundation and backbone of any song. A good bassist is such a joy to play along with. Yet he is usually the one in the background, the most under-appreciated member in any good band. Almost always, he does not get a chance like a spectacular drummer showing off his rolls. Nor does he get a chance to shine like the lead guitarist or the keyboardist when it’s turn for their sound to stand out.

I can have a band play without a drummer. I can have the lead guitarist cover the keyboardist if I don’t have one, or vice versa. But I cannot play without a Bassist.

And of course, I mean a good bassist. If you have ever played with, or try to sing with a bassist who plays rubbish, you will agree with me.
