pardon me for my ignorance.. but whats e difference between a pandeiro and a tambourine?

usually i ordered RMV or other US or South American pandeiros.
Locally, i think u can get the Taiwan made ones at swee lee or ranking.

Melvin - pandeiros are different from tambourines in many ways..

Yes the Solo was great - his hands very fast too - not easy to play..

yes bro, it's interesting...
the technique is similar to other hand-percussion instrument, slap-open strokes etc..
from the video u can see they play latin, afro-cuban, pop and drum n bass rhythm as well.. i specialliy like the marakatu"traditional brazillian rhythm" style..

Pandeiro is one of the hardest to play.. Unlike tambourine, there's a certain technique that applies to it.. Yamaha @ PS did bring the RMV pandeiro but it's the 12" type I think..

My friend wanted to buy one but still waiting for the 10" one to arrive..

I have a 12" Meinl Pandeiro. Bought it to try to play some Stanton Moore stuff. Naturally, I still haven't got down to it. Haha! :mrgreen:
